Halloween 2013

Hello All,

Happy Halloween!!!!

Since its Halloween I wanted to do something special instead of any everyday run of the mill post. But what? My first thought was yes! Halloween is on Thursday so a Throwback sounded like a great idea BUT I don't have any pictures of past Halloweens with me on campus so I couldn't do that post. Then I thought, well what am I going to do on Halloween? Work. What am I doing the weekend before Halloween? Fall Conference for my Future Teacher's Club and Work. So, Halloween parties/costumes is out of the question.

But then I remembered that my building has this annual tradition where each floor decorates their common room for Halloween. Unfortunately I was working when they decorate floor so I don't have pictures of the actual process but I have pictures of the finished product and I figured I shared those with you to get you in the Halloween mood.

When you first walk off the elevator you see this
On one of the walls, it read; "The foulest stench is in the air. The funk of forty thousands years. And ghostly ghouls from every tomb is closing in to seal you DOOM."
My gravestone

Painted on window
Spiderwebs
So, tell me what are some of your favorite Halloween tradition? What were you for Halloween this year? Let me know in the comments below!

P.S.-Here's something cute to go along with the...creepy above!

What I Love Wednesday...Harry Potter

Hello All,

So, ummm I can't remember if I did this for What I Love Wednesday but I'm doing it again today because I was inspired by a video (in more way then one but were only going to talk about the post). So, Happy Wednesday and welcome to what I Love Wednesday!

This week I Love Harry Potter!

I love that JK Rowling could create a story that brings you do a whole new world that I want to come back to time after time after time after time. (Thanks JK Rowling!)

I love that the little girl who fangirled over Harry, ended up with him in the end (Can that happen to me?)
Source
I love the pranks that Fred and George played through out the series.
Source
I love that Mrs. Weasely treated Harry like her own son.
Source
I love the friendship the trio had on screen
Source
And off screen
Source
I loved to hate Snape
Source
And Malfoy
Source
In fact they were my favorite characters.

I love that JK Rowling said at the end of the series "That Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home!"
Source
I love that Harry Potter created such a culture around the world, I think its such an inspiration.

I love that these stories inspired a Youtuber to make this video (also the inspiration for this post)

And that's what I love this week. What do you love this week? Let me know in the comments below

Sometimes Life is Hard

Hello All,

I don't know if I'm going to post this, so if you're reading this it might be that I need to share or I'll just delete it from my drafts and eventually delete it.

The past few week I have been beyond stressed and today it came to it boiling point.  I had a slight breakdown today while talking on the phone to Mama J.

There are days that I'm not sure if I can do it. And by it I mean this whole college thing. I don't know if I will ever see the day that I walk across that stage and receive that diploma.

Source
There are days I'm not sure its worth it. Is it really worth it to work my butt off 4 maybe even 5 years just to maybe work part time while trying to jungle bills, paying back my debt and all the other expensive that come with being a "grown up".

And then I'm afraid of failing. I'm afraid of working so hard to fail and having to re-evaluate my life and realize I made the wrong decision when I was 20 years old.

If I had all the money in the world I think that I would make it that every person had to take a year off from school and explore the world. I think we need time to find ourselves because I'm sitting in bed questioning my future and what exactly I want to do. And frankly if I can do it.

But I'll keep pushing along and hope that one day all this hard work will be worth it and I will be happy.

Thank for reading my rant and letting my blog be this place I let off some steam!

Exploring the Big E

Hello All,

Happy Monday! Can you believe that October is almost over! I know I can't. Last week marked mid-terms at my college and now I need to finish keeping my grades up and survive.

Today I'm going to tell the second part of my 3 part Big E adventure. If you didn't read the first part you can read it here

After getting into the Big E we went and got food, my original plan was to take a picture of everything that I ate during the Big E but my phone battery was decreasing quickly and I didn't want to waste the battery.

After we got something to eat we over to the houses. For those of you who have never been to the Big E, each state in New England (CT, MA, RI, NH, VT and Maine) have houses where they feature things that are popular from there state, such as food or stores. My hometown actually had a station in our state building which is pretty cool!

In the New Hampshire house Hannah and I both tried our luck at the lotto but neither of us had any successes! I also got a big Whoopie Pie from one of the State buildings and Hannah got chocolate cover bacon which she loved!

My Whoopie Pie! Yummmmm!
We continued exploring for a little bit longer and found the petting zoo, where I did take out my phone because I wanted to take pictures of all the animals.

A mule
A kangaroo
Blurry goat
Another goat
Lemur
Llama
More goats!
The animals were so cute! We continued explore and went into this one building that was literally selling every as seen on TV things you could think of. I ended up buying a Boston Strong sticker to put on my computer and sweatshirt that said Boston Strong. (A little side story: My best friend goes to college in Boston and went to the Boston marathon last year. God was watching her that day though because she left about 30 minutes before the bomb went off. But because she was there I'm a little obsessed with Boston Strong products).

Our last stop before heading to the arena was to this little tent that sells these bean bag chair things that are probably the most comfortable chairs I've ever sat in. I was actually tempted to buy one but they were way to expensive.

Me cheesing in the comfy chair
Hannah, neither of us know why she looks so uncomfortable
After that we grabbed some dinner type foods and headed to the arena to see one of my loves Hunter Hayes. Stay tune to find out how the concert was later this week.

And tell me what is your favorite fair food in the comments below.

Why I Will Never Meet My Prince Charming at Work

Hello All,

I was so excited about this post because I was going through some writer's block the past few days and then I was at work yesterday sweeping by the window and I felt like I was in a movie and that the leading male would walk by the store and probably not notice me but then one day he would see me and I'd have a told Cinderella transformation montage and he'd see me and we would fall madly in love. LOL.

Anyways, I started thinking and realized that because of where I work I will probably never meet my Prince charming at work for this reason.

1. I have to wear a hat everyday so nobody will see my lushes beautiful hair.

Source
I always, always have custard on my shirt.

If I started to talk to an attractive guy the whole kitchen would know and be watching.
Source
When I flirt like this...
Source
Oh wait that's why I'm single in general.

So, that's why I will never meet my Prince Charming at work.

The Trouble at the Big E!

Hello All,

I hope you are all good on this Thursday! Remember there is only 1 more day to the weekend! That must make you all happy! It makes me happy.

Speaking of weekends a few weekend ago (about a month ago) I went to the Big E to see Hunter Hayes! I'm going to break this post into about 3 parts because its a lot of writing to do. So, on a Friday morning Hannah and I drove to the Big E! We had to stop by Mama J's office first to drop something off to her.

Then we hit to the road, we listen to the radio, sang along and enjoyed the ride. We were close to the Big E and started seeing signs for the Big E. But we missed the exit and we had to keep driving until the next exit. Well by missing the exit we got in bumper to bumper traffic for a good 30-45 minutes.

When we got there we already had our tickets, at least that's what we thought. You see I bought our tickets to see Hunter Hayes online through a ticket website. They told me that they were going to mail me my tickets to the show, and I got something in the mail so I figured we were good to go.

But when we got up to the ticket counter they said they had never seen a ticket like the ones I had received before.
Source
So, lady called over her supervisor and he looked at the tickets and just kept telling us that the tickets need a barocode or else they wouldn't work. And I kept telling him that this is what I got and I showing him the receipt. It was like talking to a wall.

Then he called his supervisor who called the place where I bought my tickets and they told her that Mama J (who was the holder of credit card I used) needed to call and change the names on the tickets to my name.

Well you see Mama J was at work so I said I would call and explain the situation but they kept saying no. No, it has to be your mom.
Source
Luckily for Hannah and I Mama J wasn't busy at work and able to call. After what felt like 2 hours, Hannah said it was two hours but I didn't have my phone on. Called and they finally let us into the Big E with our tickets to see Hunter!

Stay tuned to see what happens next in our Big E adventure.

Why I Am Perfectly Content

Hello All,

Some of you may remember that I participated in the Blogtember last month. Well there was a question about what my life is like right now. Well I wish I was inspired to write this post now but I was inspired to write this post last night after having a really good night at work.

What inspired me you ask? Well see I'm really happy with my life right now! Some people might think I'm crazy for being in love with the life I have right now because I have many moments of stress and run around like a chicken with my head cut off half. But I'm loving every moment of it.

You see when I was high school I had a picture of what my life should be like but it never was what I wanted it to. You know the saying, "You want to hear God, laugh tell him your plans?" Well I'm pretty sure God's abs hurt from laughing at me in high school.

You see I wanted to be able to juggle classes, involvement, job and I really wanted a boyfriend and a lot of amazing friends. And now I have most of those things.

You see I'm taking 5 classes.

I'm super involved in the Future Teacher's Club on my campus. I spend the majority of my time doing things for the Future Teacher Club.
The officers at our summer leadership conference (LtoR: Cyndi, Megan, Deanna, Christina and me)
I work 20 hours a week at a place about 20 minutes from school and I like the most of my co-workers.

I do have a lot of amazing friends right now. I actually have friends in all different places so I can walk across campus and randomly someone will say hi to me and have a conversation with me.  Like I always dreamed.

Yes, I'm still single but I'm okay with because I know I haven't found the right person to date and when I find him he will be the icing to the really good cupcake that is my life right now.

I have some big plans coming up for next semester that is going to make next semester even better then this year.

What makes you happy about your life right now? Let me know in the comments below.
