TRAVEL THURSDAY: My Next Trip!

Hello All,

I can't believe I haven't written this post yet! I've known about this trip since before I went on my Disney Cruise (You can read all recaps Part 2Part 3Part 4Part 5Part 6Part 7Part 8Part 9Part 10part 12 and Final Thoughts). At first I wanted to wait until all those recaps were over to announce my next trip but then life got in the way and I forgot to write the post! But now my next trip is less the 50 days away and has to be shared!

That's right ladies and gentlemen, I'm going to Disney at Christmas time! I am so excited, this is my Christmas present from Mama J! Its going to be the 2 us joined by one of Mama J's best friends for 4 days of lots of fun! We are all super excited to go and have a new Christmassy adventure!

We leave the morning after the Winter semester at my school officially ends but as long as there isn't any snow I'll be done a day or two before we leave. That leaves some time for catching up from finals sleep derivation, get some laundry done and pack up for my trip! Plus it will be what will help motivate me through finals.

Much like with my cruise I am planning on sharing some of the plans here and share some awesome post and pictures upon my return. Unlike my last trip with this trip I am thinking, and strongly leaning towards daily vlogging this trip so that I can share my adventures in video form!

I can't wait to share more planning details with you guys, as well as the trip! Keep an eye out for more details!

...getting excited to see Wicked again

...constantly tweeting (if you want update updates on me you follow me here)

...missing having the time to blog a lot

...having a much better year then last year

...craving buffalo wings

...thinking I want to work in social media when I grow up

...obsessed with the apps snapchat, timehop and yik yak

...I'm getting more excited for the Christmas season (I've never really been a Halloween person)

...getting a burst of inspriation for blog post, hopefully I can get some great post up soon

...thinking more about my future career and getting an internship

...really happy with where I am in life and super excited to see what else happens this school year!

On another note, I went home this past weekend and spent some quality time with Mama J. On Sunday we went with one of her friends to look at a location for a crafting retreat they are hosting. It was right by the beach and absolutely beautiful. I took some pictures and I wanted to share them with you guys!

Homecoming Weekend 2014

Hello All,

I want to apologize for being MIA for the past forever here on the bloggy. But I'm working super hard on school and I think its actually paying off! I have some excited things coming up as well as some exciting ideas for the blog so please bear with me and stay tuned.

Before I start this post I actually have to apologize again because I'm writing about Homecoming weekend and I didn't take any pictures. I totally regret because I won't have any photographic proof of this homecoming when I look back on it in the future.

Source
Friday:
I started by Friday by working at my job until about 3 PM. When I got back I did some work and hung out with my roommate Megan who stayed the weekend for homecoming. That night we went to see our school's production of Godspell, which was super fantastic! The whole cast did an amazing! In all honesty I had already seen but I had to see it again.

Saturday:
Megan and I got up some what early and went to the Dunkin Donuts on campus with the idea of getting Hot Chocolate because that just seemed like a fall, homecoming esque type thing to do. But by the time we got across campus we were too hot so I just got a muffin and a water bottle. We then walked over to the just outside the stadium for our schools homecoming parade where different clubs and organizations do skits to go along with the Homecoming theme. All the couples and organization did awesome and we're super entertaining.

It ended up getting cold fast so Megan and I decided since we know nothing about football to just go back to our suite. We ordered take out and watched movies which included, Harry Potter and Christmas movie! It ended up being exactly what Megan and I needed.

Every year on the Saturday of Homecoming our school brings in a comdian for comedy show. This year they brought in Nicole Byer from Girl Code. My roommate Megan and Grace and I decided to go see her. It was pretty cool to get to see someone I watch on TV in really life.

Source
Sunday:
I started this day by having the oppurtunity to sleep in but waking up and not being able to fall asleep so I just kind of listened to music and laid in bed. Megan and I decided once again to go see the school play, so if you're keeping count that is a grand total of 3 times I went to see the show. It was just that good. It was also our schools open house so we talked to some people in the lobby who were looking at our school. The show was just as good the 3rd time around!

Soon it was time to go back to the reality of school and we spent the rest of our night doing homework. It was pretty relaxed and I really enjoyed this weekend.

What I'm Watching...{Fall 2014}

***Everything said in this post is 100% my opinion and I encourage you to make your own opinions of these shows***

Hello All,

One of my favorite things about this time of year, other then all the cliche things that make it my favorite time of year, is that new TV starts. I'm a TV nerd and I love getting engrossed with as many shows as I can. Like when I binge watch on Netflix I don't have one show I normally have 3 to 4 to bring in some variety. I figured that because everyone seems to be doing a post like that I would jump on this bandwagon as well, please don't judge how much TV I watch though because I ALWAYS have it on in the background. LOL

Returning Fall Shows
I'm going to start by sharing the shows that impressed me enough last year for me to return to their stories again this year.

-New Girl
Source
Who doesn't love Jessica Day and her four lovable roommates. I know I do! This season opens with Jess trying to move on after her relationship with Nick. Although I don't watch this show every week I do enjoy the stories and find that in some situation Jess is my spirit animal. You can watch Jess and the gang Tuesdays at 9/8c on Fox.

- Awkward
Source
After Jenna inspired me to blog how could I not follow her back for senior year? This year opens after the dramatic senior year ski trip and brings out the final semester for the Palos Hills High School Seniors that I have grown to love. Plus who doesn't want to  Matty McKibben every week? You can catch Awkward Tuesdays at 10/9c on MTV.

-Faking It
Source
Hester HIgh is the high school everyone wished they went to because everyone is accepted and love but Karma just doesn't see that. So, excited to see this back and see what happens next for these characters. Faking it airs Tuesday at 10:30/11:30c on MTV.

-The Middle
Source
I have loved the Hecks from the moment I met them and can't wait to see what can go wrong for them this year. Plus I might have a small crush on Axel. You can catch the Hecks Wednesday at 8/7c on ABC.

-Modern Family
Source
This family is the family that we all probably wish we were from and I love that! This much like New Girl isn't a show I watch every week but when I do I totally enjoy it and can't wait to see what messes they get into. You can catch this family Wednesday 9/8c on ABC.

-Grey's Anatomy
Source
Meredith is back with a whole new group of patients, problems and new sister. This stories may have begun to repeat themselves a little but I love to see these character grow and I will continue to return year after to year just for the characters like I will this year. You can check out these doctors on Thursdays 8/7c on ABC.

-Degrassi
Source
I always said when this group of seniors, the ones who were "new" when I started watching Degrassi graduated I would move on and stop watching. Well this is their senior year and I am preparing for my last semester/year at the Canadian high school that I feel in love with. Plus I need to know who Claire's Baby Daddy is (#TeamDrew).

New Shows:
This year seems to be bring some new interesting characters to our TV screens and I can't wait to meet some and others I could live without. In this section I'm going to tell you about all the pilots I watched and whether I will be continuing through the season.

-Gotham
This seems like a great concept for a TV show. It shows the back story of all these different super heros plus it has Ben McKenzie A.K.A. Ryan Atwood from the OC so I was up to give a shot. Although about 10-15 minutes I realize I know nothing about Super Heroes and figured that I would be lost trying to watch this show. Those who do have knowledge of super heroes though should watch it because the act was great. It airs Mondays on Fox at 8/7c.

-Jane the Virgin
Jane the Virgin is about a young women, around 23 years old, who is a virgin. One day she goes to her lady doctor for a regular check up who is going through a really hard time in her personal life and accidentally insemented her with sperm and she becomes pregnant. Now the show is going to follow her pregnancy and making everything work. This show has a lot of characters so I'm a little worried that it will hard to keep up with a lot of this. I probably will return and watch this show for at least the next few episodes but I'm not sure it will be one I'll stick with for good. If you want to check out the show you can watch Mondays at 9/8c on the CW.

-Selfie
The concept behind this show seemed stupid but on Hulu it had a advance preview of the pilot over the summer and I thought what the Hell let me check it out and let me tell you, I LOVED it. I realized soon off the bat that it was a play on My Fair Lady but with social media image being the issue rather then the way she talked but it was funny, sweet and mindless. Do I think it will get a season 2? After one episode, probably not but I am going to watch season 1 and see what the writer's can do about it. If you want to check Selfie out you can on ABC on Tuesdays at 8/7c.

-Manhattan Love Story
This show I was a little worried about. I feel like sometimes it can be hard to watch a show that uses the off screen voices multiple time throughout the episode instead of at the end and the beginning. The main part thing that drew me in was the fact that Jake McDorman who is cute and Evan Chambers from Greek who I may have totally loved. I was happily surprised by how much I like this show. Its starts when the main characters Dana (Analeigh Tipton) and Peter (McDorman) meets and you can't hear what they are thinking throughout the experience. You can watch this love story untold on ABC, Tuesday at 8:30/7:30c.

-Red Band Society
Before getting the advanced screen on Hulu (*I am in no way being sponsered by Hulu, I just happened to be playing around on it a few weeks ago to see these advance screenings***) I saw this advance screening for a show that I hadn't heard of but it looked interesting, so I hit played and with in minutes was in love with it. This story is told from the point of view of Charlie (Griffin Gluck) who is coma but knows everything that is going on in the hospital. But what makes this show not just another ER rip off is that its all about the Kids in peds section of the hospital. Plus you know its going to be good because it has Octavia Spencer in it. If you ask me this show has a long bright future ahead of it. You can check them out Wednesday on Fox at 9/8c.

-How to Get Away with Murder
This show drew me in instantly. I just couldn't figure out how a whole show could revolve around a 1 law class. Was going to be told in flashbacks or was it going ot be told in the presence. It intrigue me so of course I watched the pilot and it sucked me in faster then any other show that has premiered this season. You can catch this awesome new show on Thursdays at 10/9c on ABC.

-AtoZ
Another show that had an advance screening on Hulu, A to Z falls the whole relationship of two people, from the minute they first see each other until the day that the "dating" part ends. Anyone who believes in fate and that everything happens for a reason or that somewhere out their is the one person you are meant to be with has to watch this show. You can check this cute couple out on Thursdays on NBC at 9:30/8:30c.

MOVIE REVIEW: Gone Girl

Hello All,

Yesterday I decided to take myself on a little date to go see Gone Girl! And boy was I glad a I did! Before I start the review you can check out the trailer by clicking the clip before.

Over the summer I started reading the Gillian Flynn novel, Gone Girl but never got a chance to finish it. Mainly because I started reading, To All the Boys I've Loved Before and never got a chance to finish Gone Girl. I'm hoping to finish it soon, maybe over winter break or Thanksgiving break, I don't get a lot of reading time during the semester.

Source
As soon as I saw the previews I knew had to see this movie. It drew me in faster then most movies ever have. For those of you who don't know what its about it follows the aftermath of when Amy Donne goes missing and everything Nick Donne does to find her and prove his innocence.

Source
The movies moves along at the perfect pace, even though it is an almost 3 hour movie! There wasn't any point in the movie where I was like "God, we get it can we move on puh-lease." Actually I think some of the story would have been lost if went any faster because it would have lost a lot of the extremely important details you need in order to understand the story.

My favorite part of the story is the fact that for almost the whole movie I didn't know who I could trust. Both Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike did a fabulous job making that possible, along with the other star studded cast of Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry and Carrie Coon. I haven't seen Affleck in a  movie for awhile and I forgot what a great actor he was. Now having seen this movie I honestly can not picture a better fit for this character than Affleck.

Source
I don't know if this movie has gotten any awards buzz yet but in my opinion this movie does deserves some. Especially because before the movie was released to credits the didn't believe that their was going to be good at all. And came up out of the doubts to prove that it is fantastic movie.

The movie is rated R and for every good reasons. If you are not comfortable with graphic, bloody moments or sexual moments then I wouldn't recommend this movie.

If you haven't seen Gone Girl yet you should jump in your car and go now! It was that amazing! I want to see it like 20 times over!

Have you seen gone girl? Did you like it? Let me know in the comments below!

MOVIE REVIEW: The Maze Runner

Hello All,

So, a few days ago Mandi and I went to see The Maze Runner. Are you surprised? My celebrity crush, Dylan O'Brien, is staring in it. Have you seen the promo? If not you can check out below.

As those of you checked this blog out over the summer then you might have read my Maze Runner book review, if you didn't you can read it here

When I read the book I already knew that Dylan O'Brien was going to play the role of Thomas and the whole time I read it I just couldn't picture him in the role. Mainly because I found Thomas beyond annoying and childish and I couldn't picture O'Brien playing a role that "young" so to speak.

The writers did something though. They changed the character. Yes, he still asked an annoying amount of questions, but not as many as the Thomas in the book did. I didn't find him as annoying and found that Dylan fit the role the screen play writers wrote.

Much like any movies adaptation there were changes made for whatever reasons but the changes didn't make the movie worse. Instead it made it different, I felt that in many parts it was a different story. Yes, it did follow the basic story line but there changes that were made and it added to the story or made it so that people who hadn't read the book could understand.

The primary thing about the movie that bothered me were the angles that the director used the amount of cuts per minute that made me a little, dizzy I think would be the right word to use. Other then that I really enjoyed who the movie was shot and put together.

If you read the book, if you like Dylan O'Brien or you just like action movies I would recommend going to see this movie because if I had to guess, this trilogy will turn into the next Hunger Games. With that being said, if you saw this movie what did you think about it? Let me know in the comments below.
